Glassy Blue Text Effect
I decided to take a break from my other tut, and do a super simple blue text effect. I guess I'm going tutorial crazy this weekend.

This is what we will be making!

(My real name is Ryan)
So, the first thing you wanna do is open a new document, about 400(W)x100(H). Then we shall make a backdrop, to do this select everything by pressing CTRL+A (CMD+A MAC), and then grab the paint bucket tool, and fill your selection with #2E7AF6. Then get the text editor and type some text, change the font to Arial Black, and change the color to #0061FF, with the size about 60 pt. Type your name or whatever you want, and center it. Now right click on the text layer, and hit Blending Options. Now put in these options.

K, now you should grab the pen tool, and this part is totally optional, but it makes the background look really cool (IMO). First make a new layer and then put it between your text and background layer, then change your foreground to white, so then with your pen tool, make sure the settings are like this.

K, now click a little more then halfway up on the left, but make sure it farther to the left then the canvas goes, but not too far. Now click on the right side and do the same except farther down a little more. Now click in the middle and bend it around until you get a nice curve, and then to make it so it creates a shape by clicking above the canvas right over the right and left dots. If that made sence LOL. But here's a pic of what you should end up with.

Notice: I just started a new document and did it, so it will look slightly different, but should be basicly the same. Now change the new layer to a soft light blending mode, and put the opacity down untill it looks good to you. Now merge the background and new layer, and go into blending mode. Put in these options. Oh, and if your foreground color isn't white still, make it white now.

Now you should get something like this!
