Elf Ears
Here is an example of what we will be making.

Despite how it might look, this is a very simple process. It requires only one tool.

1. Open your picture.
 a. Select the Clone tool .
 b. Zoom in to around 300%. Choose a clone stamp size that is around the same size as the outer edge of the ear.
 c. Starting from the outer edge of the top part of the ear, hold ALT and click. Next, click and drag upward and outwards.
 Screen Shot
 d. Repeat step 1c until you have reached a decent distance from the original top of the ear. As you get closer to where you want the ear to end, hold ALT and click closer to the edge.
 Screen Shot
 e. In some cases you will need to repeat this process with the lower edge of the ear.
 Screen Shot

2. The other ear.
 a. Simply repeat steps 1a through 1e on the other ear.

3. File > Save

Finished!

I was browsing on GT when i came across on your tut... Its nice...
I have done something like this before but in a different way...
I made myself look like an elf-thingy too but i used liquify on the ears instead of cloning the ear like on your tut...

Heres how i did it...

first i used the lasso tool on the ear and copied it
then i pasted it on a new layer...
i selected the new layer where i pasted the copy of the ear and liguified it to how i want it look like...
then i merged the layers and presto...

heres a pic of what i have done...
